Beginner rafter but really enjoyed both in and out. Not as hard as you may think and the guides have it memorized so they prepare you prior to each rapid. Sit in the back of the boat if you're worried but definitely try! The way out is GORGEOUS and I highly recommend it over the way in if you're only doing one. The room was nice and clean, the pool was so pretty and an experience in itself. The food was all so good, service was top notch and we made friends with a lot of the guides. Our favorite activity was waterfall hike, night walk and zip line. We had massages and enjoyed them too.

We stayed 3 nights here and it was the perfect amount of time. They welcomed us as if you were family. This place was a five star experience.

Incredible place! Only stayed for one night but should have stayed more. Everything is beautiful and the service is top notch, the guides are very friendly and knowledgeable and kind. The waiters and concierge went above and beyond to accommodate a last minute request for a private dinner. Highly recommend the zipline (very safe) and of course coming in rafting. At the end they asked me for feedback but I couldn't think of anything to improve. Oh the food is incredible too!

We stayed at the Pacuare Lodge for our 20 year anniversary and it was spectacular. We did the white water rafting in and out to get to the hotel, and I highly recommend it. The Pacuare River is top 5 in the world for white water rafting scenery. The Pacuare Lodge guides were all excellent - fun, friendly, and informative. The food at the lodge was also the best we had in all our 2 weeks in Costa Rica. We stayed in 6 different places and Pacuare lodge was our favourite stop. The activities you can do are varied and kept us busy. Zip Lining was our favourite, after the water rafting. Canyoneering was wonderful, too. We did a quick trip to the beautiful waterfall in the area, as well as the night walk. Only wish we had had time for the visit to the village, other guests told us it was a really good experience, also. The wildlife and cabins are also really amazing and beautiful. We stayed in the riverside cabin and it was always very clean, they seemed to come in and clean frequently while we were out exploring. If we come back to Costa Rica, we will definitely stop here again, top notch service and experiences.

We stayed at Pacuare Lodge at the end of our honeymoon in Costa Rica - it was truly amazing and the highlight of our trip! Activities: We rafted in - this was well-organised in terms of parking for our hire car, breakfast beforehand, and safety equipment/briefings. Our guides were great, we felt safe throughout and really enjoyed the experience. During our stay, we did canyoning, zip lining, the night walk and birdwatching. Again the guides were all fantastic, all elements felt safe, group sizes were very small and we loved all the activities. Rafting out was incredible - very intense as someone new to white water rafting, but the guides were amazing and we had a lot of fun! Room: We were grateful for an unexpected room upgrade - the suite was gorgeous, with views over the river, private pool, large balcony and outdoor shower. We were quite a walk from the main reception, however a golf cart was easily accessible for lifts to and from the room when requested. It felt very private and we were really comfortable. Of note, there is mosquito netting rather than standard windows, but this creates a sense of being very close to the forest. Food: The restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed full breakfasts and three-course lunches/dinners each day. The menu had a good selection of options and the food quality was fantastic. Overall service: The staff at Pacuare were wonderful - they got to know us by name and the whole experience felt very personal and tailored. We also enjoyed the special honeymoon touches that were added in. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it!
